My interest was absorbed immediately, and I loved the urgency created around the main characters. I thought that the conflicts within Jacinda felt honest. The pain she feels over being torn between the love of her family, her love for the “pack”, her pride in her heritage and the desire to be free was both believable and compelling. The romance element was wonderful for those of us willing to suspend our disbelief. I didn't realize initially that this was the first in a series so the "not" ending was a bit of a surprise.
